Boron carbide is an important neutron- absorbing material for control rods in fast neutron nuclear reactors. It exhibits high neutron absorption efficiency, a high melting temperature (2450°C), and chemical stability.

Our developed technology involves the production of cylindrical-shaped products from boron carbide powder using a hot two- stage pressing method in reusable graphite molds.
